Another Card!

I'm spending a cozy day indoors.  Love it!

For the card below I used the Paper Smooches Squared Die to cut out a background from watercolor paper.
I then laid the die cut over another piece of watercolor paper and squooshed Versamark ink over the entire surface.
I heat embossed with white, then used Distress Inks for a cool resist effect.

I'm playing along with Curtain Call's "Soft Scarf" challenge using their photo as inspiration for the color scheme.

Since the die and sentiment are from Paper Smooches I'm making a last minute entry to their  SPARKS Anything Goes Challenge, too!

I have been introduced to so many talented card makers as a result of joining challenges or even just checking out the entrant's blogs!!  There are so many creative ladies out there!

Have a great day!

  1. This turned out really pretty. I keep forgetting to emboss on Vellum...I so like the look.

  2. Such a clever technique, those mixed distress colours are wonderful in the background!

  3. I found your blog from Darnell's website and love your card creation! They are wonderful and joining as one of your newest "follower". I hope you will visit my blog also and perhaps follow me too. Looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful cards.

  4. Oooohhh...that's a neat technique with that PS die! Lovely!
Thanks for playing with us at Curtain Call!

  5. Oh Mary this is fabulous! Love that die cut out of the watercolored paper! And love the sentient embossed on the vellum! Really pretty card!

  6. I think this is sensational, Mary!! I'm bookmarking this ... you really make it sound so easy and yet it looks like it was painstakingly watercolored bit by bit. I like easy!! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell

  7. What a lovely background you created - great technique and colors!

  8. I've been eyeing that squared die since it came out; what you did with it is fabulous!! Perfect colors and softness for that inspiration photo. Thanks so much for visiting my blog, it's so nice to meet you!

  9. Ooh, love this, Mary! using the die to add the color to the watercolor paper worked fabulously! Love that sentiment too!
